What?? Yes, I live in Texas – Frisco, Texas to be exact, which is a suburb north of Dallas. I have discovered lately a sweet Australian café in Frisco – Aussie Grind. It is such a fun place with delightful décor, extensive coffee creations and delicious breakfast – or breaky – and lunch. Owners Angie and Lui are super cool and so welcoming.
It isn’t your normal café. They are serving delightfully different plates with robust flavor and beautifully presented. I started my day with an almond milk Cappuccino with 2 pumps of sugar free vanilla. To my surprise it was handed to me with an artist touch of design in the milk on top. They have a wide variety of coffee drinks, milks and syrups – since I am on a sugar free diet, my choice was limited. There are freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, milkshakes and a wide variety of brewed teas.

Breaky items are so unique and delicious. For example, Mushroom stack on polenta with arugula and candied bacon, Avo Smash (avocado) on sourdough with danish feta cheese, baby arugula and beet whipped cream cheese, House Made Granola. The French Toast is not your everyday dish – oh no – this FT is thick cut challah break with napoleon ice cream, berry compote and chocolate sauce. YUM!! The Hotcakes are served with vanilla ice cream, fairy floss (cotton candy), maple syrup and berry compote. Love the fairy floss!! There are more omelets, breakfast sandwiches (the croissants and fantastic and buttery), eggs your way, etc. You get the picture ….
And then there is lunch, which is served all day. Prawn Linguine, Fish ‘n Chips, and an Angus patty burger that you can get “Aussiefy” with a fried egg, beetroot and pineapple. Go ahead – try it and take a bite slowly and discover all the flavors. As if your mouth isn’t watering already, yes there is dessert and homemade treats. What?? YES, there are alcoholic beverages or “grog” – beer, wine and cocktails. The kiddos get their own menu as well with all-time favorites taken to a new level. Fairy Bread that is fresh sourdough bread with butter and sprinkles. What kid, or adult for that matter, doesn’t love sprinkles!!
